NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer has completed her transit from Rhode Island to Puerto Rico. Next up: calibrating the singlebeam sonar, deploying an underwater glider to record oceanographic conditions over time, and conducting a patch test with the multibeam sonar to ensure seafloor measurements collected on the ship are accurate. After all of this, the ship will move on to complete targeted mapping in an area southeast of St. Croix Island. The ship will arrive in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on March 11.
