Nighttime Operations 

The ROVs are back on deck for the nigh as we transit to Whiting Seamount for another exciting dive tomorrow. We plan to be in the water at 0630 Eastern and on bottom around 0730.

Dive 11

ROV Deep Discoverer is in the water and diving on Exocet Seamount. Our first objective is to complete mid- water transects and then we will head to the bottom to investigate the geomorphology and benthic coommunities.

Nighttime operations 

After a successful dive, D2 is back on deck. We will conduct mapping operations tonight as we transit to our next dive site, Exocet Seamount. We hope to be in the water at 0630 tomorrow.

6,000 meters!

ROV Deep Discoverer has reached 6,000 meters! We will spend the rest of the dive investigating the geomorphology  and fauna along the south wall of the Puerto Rico Trench.
