Dive 16: Del Cano Guyot

ROV Deep Discoverer has just been deployed and descending to the seafloor at 1,950m. Today’s dive will be on the Del Cano Guyot (a flat-topped seamount) to look for high density deep-sea coral and sponge communities, and to understand the types of communities that live on manganese-encrusted seafloor. Join us to see what we find!

Our apologies for the continuing glitches in our video feeds – we suspect the video modem to be the problem and are waiting for a new one to arrive tonight to hopefully fix the problem!
