Dive 15

NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer  is currently exploring a ridge feature that trends east- west in the Islands Unit of the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument. This feature was only just mapped for the first time during Leg 2 of this expedition. Yesterday we explored the deeper portion of the ridge and today we are focusing on the uppermost part and the ridge top. So far we have found a diversity of corals and unexpected geology. Stay tuned to see what we fun next!

I can’t seem to find the highlight videos that Tara is creating. This http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/okeanos/explorations/ex1605/logs/photolog/welcome.html page would seem to be the location but the videos are not listed by date but by dive number and seem mostly to be from leg 1. Wonderful work you all are doing!

    • The videos are on the page you reference. They are organized by dive, with the most-recent videos being at the top. There are videos from Leg 3 (not as many as from Leg 1…yet). I added some headings to help distinguish between the two legs; hope that helps!

Thanks Kasey, that helps a lot. I’ll mention that the heading for leg 1 seems to be right justified versus left.
I am really enjoying watching this expedition and learning a lot too!
