Diving at “Keli’ihanui” Seamount

We are diving today on a seamount we are calling “Keli’ihanui”. We had previously mapped this seamount at the beginning of the year on another NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer expedition. We will be looking at the abundance and distribution of animals both on the seafloor and in the water column. We will be looking at the geological history of this seamount and also to see how geology affects marine life. Our dive will start at about 8:30 AM, SST (3:30 PM, EDT).
