Dive 07: “Whaley” Seamount

The seamount we are calling “Whaley” is within the Jarvis Unit of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. This seamount has several small cones on top of an otherwise flat summit. We will climb the most prominent of these cones for our dive today. We plan to traverse from a depth of 1,100 meters (~3,600 feet) to the peak near 800 meters (~2,625 feet) depth.
