Mapping Overnight

After a successful 1,100-meter (3,610-foot) dive on the seamount dubbed “Whaley”, we are busy planning for tomorrow’s dive. Our mapping team will be hard at work all night, getting additional data for the upcoming deep dive on a fracture zone in the northwest part of the Jarvis unit of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. We estimate that we will go to ~4,500 meters (~14,765 feet) deep. For more information about this expedition, visit:
